MESSAGE   FROM   Malta   HOUSE   Of   CARE

The Malta van will reopen on May 18th in the St. Rose parking lot from 9 am to 2 pm.  Patients must wear masks and should first call 860-725-0171 if they have flu-like symptoms.

If you need assistance outside of this time, patients should call 860-725-0171 (Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm), for medication refills, test results, diabetes issues, urgent medical needs, or to discuss flu-like symptoms (cough, fever, chills, body ache).

The best way to stay healthy is to stay home!

Our goal is twofold: to reach out to members of our faith community who may not be able to worship with us due to illness or being homebound and to provide an opportunity to receive free primary health care to uninsured adults in Greater Hartford.

Home and Hospital visitations are made when requested through the office, bringing the Eucharist to comfort those in need. Since hospitals do not inform the office of hospitalized parishioners, please remember that, due to medical privacy, the only way for us to learn of your condition is a telephone call to the church office. If you are homebound, please call the office to arrange for a Minister of the Eucharist to bring the Eucharist to you.

The Malta House of Care, a mobile medical clinic, provides free primary health care to uninsured adults in Greater Hartford. The Malta Van visits the parking lot at St, Rose Church on Mondays from 11:00am - 5:00pm. Health care is provided with compassion and respect by a dedicated group of volunteer doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals. There are three criteria to be a patient at Malta House:
  • You must be age 18 or older.
  • You may not have insurance of any kind.
  • You must bring a picture ID with proof of local residency.
Malta is a walk-in clinic; patients are seen on a first-come first-served basis. If you speak a language other than English or Spanish, please bring an English-speaking friend or family member to act as interpreter.
